Tenth Sunday after Pentecost - 08/14/22

Last Sunday we talked about our prayer for this upcoming season together, that "time of refreshing may come" and that dry things may come back to life. Did you experience the physical release of refreshment from the rain yesterday? This Sunday we will be talking about the cloud of witnesses that have gone before us. What does this mean for us to be surrounded by a cloud of witnesses? And furthermore what it means for Jesus to run the race in front of us on our behalf and how we participate in this.

We look forward to seeing you all this week!

Ninth Sunday after Pentecost - 08/07/22

This Sunday we are going to be looking at some of Luke's writings in Acts when Peter, who was transformed from a coward to one of the most courageous preachers, invites everyone to repent. Why does he preach that we should repent? Peter says, "so that times of refreshing may come." Whether you are coming out of a season of anxiety and stress or need a literal since of refreshment from this summer heat, we could all use some refreshment.

We look forward to seeing you all this week!

Eighth Sunday after Pentecost - 07/31/22

Last Sunday we looked at one of the great passages about prayer where Jesus compares praying to asking, seeking, and knocking. This Sunday we will instead be looking at the question: What does it look like to accept Jesus' invitation, and how does that translate to your prayer life? We will then be talking about what dependence on the Lord looks like and how to balance the natural pull of desiring independence.

Sixth Sunday after Pentecost - 07/17/22

This week we will be exploring what Paul means when he writes, "Christ in you, the hope of glory"? What is hope? What is glory? And how does that correlate to the truth that Christ is in us? The mystery of the gospel is working through these people in Colossians in the midst of their community. Paul speaks to the intentionality of choosing to depend on the Lord for strength and furthermore choosing to align your heart to that of the Father.

Third Sunday after Pentecost - 06/26/22

This Sunday we get to hear from Bill Burns on the well known story of the parable of the prodigal son. Whether you are able to relate to the younger, rebellious brother or the older, dutiful brother, life has a way of bringing us grief, pain, loss, etc. What does this have to say about God's love for us? And, furthermore, are we going to accept the invitation to carry the characteristics of the father in the story into our own lives?

We look forward to seeing you all this week!
