Every Moment Holy is a collection of modern liturgies, bringing new prayers for the practices and rhythms that form us. These prayers are ways of reminding us that our lives are shot through with sacred purpose even when, especially when, we are too busy or too caught up in our busyness to notice. The series features two volumes, the first contains prayers for the ordinary events of daily life and the second volume contains prayers for seasons of dying and grieving.
What are liturgies, and why do we need them?
McKelvey says of liturgies in a 2021 Christianity Today article, “there is the overarching meaning of the word, which is just the order and content of a worship service. Then there’s the sense of the word that means those rhythms of our lives, those repeated practices that have the power to shape our hearts into something that better reflects the image of Christ or to misshape them away from that.”
