Praying for the Victims of Harvey

Many of us have friends and family in the Houston area and all along the Gulf Coast, and as we continue to see the devastation Harvey is bringing, I’m sure we are all wondering what we can do to help. +Philip Jones, our bishop, the pastor of All Saints Dallas, and Apostolic Vicar of the Anglican Mission, wrote about some tangible ways we can all help, and I would encourage you to read his post:

I also invite all of you to pray, and if you aren’t sure how to pray, consider using this prayer from the Church of England as a starting point.

Lord of all compassion
We pray for all of those caught up in the midst of tragedy or disaster.
For those who have lost life and those working to save life
For those who are worried for people they love
For those who will see their loved ones no longer
Lord Have Mercy.
For those in need of the peace that passes all understanding
For all who turn to you in the midst of turmoil
For those who cry out to you in fear and in love
Lord Have Mercy.
For those in confusion and those in despair
For those whose tears are yet to dry
For those in need of your unending love
Lord Have Mercy
Amen
