Deeply Rooted

I love my job. I have the distinct privilege of walking alongside people and seeing God at work in their lives. I take this calling and privilege seriously, and I enjoy it immensely. Reflecting back to the first week of Membership Sundays, I can’t help but be so very excited for what God is up to at All Saints East Dallas. Many times I think of God as a gardner or farmer. And as I think and pray for All Saints East, it’s easy to see how he has tilled and made ready the soil, he has prepared and planted us, and now he’s allowing our roots to grow deep as he continues to draw new people in our midst.

One such way we will begin and maintain that deep rootedness and call others into it is Pastorates.  Pastorates are mid-sized groups of 20-30 people that meet in homes every other week all over our area. We’re beginning a brand new Pastorate that starts next Tuesday, January 26, 6:30-8:30. It’s going to be a fantastic experiment in community as we’ll eat together, discuss God’s word together, and pray in the power of the Holy Spirit for one another. If you’re new at All Saints East Dallas and want to be more deeply connected with God and others, click here to register for this new Pastorate. You will not regret it.

This Sunday continues our series of Membership Sundays where I’ll be talking in more detail about our particular worship tradition and the meaning and history behind it. I hope you can be there.

You’re in my prayers -
